What is ISIS Really?

If you’ve been keeping up current events, you might have already seen the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terror group executed another American citizen. What I don’t understand is that the American government has access to the best technology in order spy on its own citizens here in America. So, you want me to believe that no one in our government can’t or doesn’t know how to find this terror group? You can miss me with that shit. I refuse to believe that.

If I were the President of the United States, I would allow congress to spend copious amounts of money on finding this group WITHOUT putting groups on the ground. If I told my troops, to their face, that I would not commit them to another ground war in Iraq, I would firmly stand by my word. As far as I’ve seen the America public is split about this issue. Additionally, what sense does it make to commit troops to another war when you’re telling the Department of Defense that we need a reduction in our force?

I’m willing to bet that the majority of the American public only knows ISIS for a terror group. That is true, but they’re more than just a terror group. Here are some fun facts about this terror group:

• Who They Are: ISIS stands for Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, also known as the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL). The group is trying to form an independent state with territory in Iraq, Syria, and parts of Lebanon. They are led by an Iraqi cleric who goes by the name Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.

• What They Do: ISIS has been fighting against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad as well as other militant Islamic groups in Syria for control of parts of Syria while also fighting the Iraqi government in its quest to form the unified ISIS state. Its brutal tactics have been disavowed as too extreme by al Qaeda’s leader Ayman al-Zawahiri.

• How Powerful They Are: ISIS forces took Mosul, the third biggest city in Iraq and the biggest one along the Iraq-Syria border. When they took the city, the ISIS seized more than $400 million from city banks, making it richer than many small nations. According to the Associated Press ISIS has also taken effective control of Tikrit, where Saddam Hussein was born.

• How They’re Able to Fight: Since it controls cities on either side of the Syria-Iraq border, ISIS forces were able to quickly move weapons seized from Mosul into Syria. The weapons, including Humvees, rifles, missiles and ammunition, will help arm ISIS in its fights on both sides of the border.

• The State They Want to Create: The territory in the western part of Iraq that ISIS wants is made up of mostly Sunni Muslims, as is the part of Syria that ISIS wants. Many Sunni Muslims in Iraq have joined ISIS in fighting against the Iraqi Army, which is under the control of a Shiite minority that mainly lives on the other side of the country.

There’s A TON more information, but I gave you the abridged version so you wouldn’t get bored.

If you’ve ever served in the United States military and have ever been deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan, you know how serious Muslims are about their religion. I AM NOT CALLING ALL MUSLIMS TERRORISTS! When I speak of Muslims in this post I am speaking about the Radical Islamists. Now add a dose of ridiculous ideals to what they already believe and that only intensifies their cause.

I would like to go into more detail, but I will do that at another time. I just wanted us REGULAR folks to know the basics of exactly what our government is attempting to disassemble.

When will we as Americans start to recognize each other as Americans instead of a Social Class, Race, Ethnicity or any other category you can dream up? From what I’ve seen, the only time the United States becomes “United,” it takes a major event such as a terrorist attack, to happen on our front porch. It’s very frustrating to hear people from all walks of life complain about how this race/ethnicity is this way or a certain religion is bad because of this or that. Instead, how about we say, we as Americans have all types of issues, what can be done to fix them? Whether you believe it or not, or are willing to accept it, we are all Americans. Yes, I know there are those that are American through a process of paperwork and not by birthright, but why are we all treated differently?

A lot of individuals are willing to sacrifice their lives just to escape one way of living so they can achieve the “American Dream,” meaning, they want what seems to be a better life and also have the right to be able to make their own decisions and so forth. I also realize that there are a large number of illegal immigrants in America (Different Topic). I am not going to sit here and tell you that at some point in my life that I have never been prejudice against another race or religion of certain people because of an irreversible act of Terrorism. I will admit and I am not ashamed to say that after the individuals that were responsible for the attacks on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001, and they were identified that I contained a strong hate for people of the Middle-Eastern Decent/Muslim faith. That is a very ignorant way of thinking, I know, but I wasn’t or didn’t want to be educated at the time, because I thought it was the right thing to do. It took me having to be deployed to Iraq/Afghanistan and forced to interact with some common individuals in those countries to realize that you can’t blame an entire religion or a group of people because they have a couple of “misguided” children. I won’t take all the blame for this hatred either, some of that hate can be attributed to the way the media portrayed these people at that time. It took me to see with my own eyes there are people in these countries that don’t have a radical way of thinking and they don’t wake up everyday with the thought of killing Americans or Foreign Troops on their mind.

America has come a long way since the days of slavery and segregation, but there is still a large number of ethnic groups (not just Black) who think that they are owed something by White Americans. I didn’t realize these ethnic groups are being forced to America in large numbers, packed to the brim of a ship for months on end with barely enough food and water; I didn’t realize these ethnic groups are still being beat up, attacked by dogs, deterred by the National Guard because they want to attend a certain University for higher learning. I understand what individuals in that era had to endure and I am not saying forget about it, how about we honor those individuals by coming together, so as they look down on us, they will be able to say, “I now understand why I had to endure pain and suffering; so the future America doesn’t have to.” It’s no longer a Race, Ethnic or Social Class thing, it’s an America thing. We all struggle with the lack of proper education, lack of motivation to get a job, lack of respect for our elders, lack of regard for law enforcement/authority in general, etc. I could go on, but what is that going to do other than make you wish that I would shut up? Instead of segregating a certain race or ethnic group, how about we work together as 1 group, Americans, and tackle this problem together. If we continue to separate ourselves, this process will happen continuously.

That also rings true when we set out to the polls to elect our officials of Government, whether it be City, County, State or Federal Levels. If we as Americans are not taking advantage of our right to vote and are voting for the right reasons then it’s our fault that the individual we elect does not meet the expectations set forth. I honestly think, no matter which party is in control, someone, somewhere is still going to complain. Its very hard to make everyone happy. I’m sure not many Black Americans will admit to this, but I didn’t vote for President Barak Obama solely because he was black, I voted for him in the 2008 Presidential Election, because I thought he was going to finally get this country back on track. I had hope and believed in what he said. It’s now 2014 and it feels like we are “marching in place,” because the same individuals we elected (The House, Senate and Congress) seem to want to pacify the rest of the world instead of making sure the people in its country are taken care of, but that’s a whole different issue. Don’t get me wrong, I do understand we have to uphold our foreign relations, because that’s just how it works, but I don’t agree with making another country happy with the sacrifice of innocent men and women. (That’s an entirely different issue; don’t get me going!)

In order for America to fix itself, we as Americans need to stop thinking of “self “and start thinking of “us.” There is a small percentage of individuals that have my way of thinking and I am sure any changes of this magnitude will not be seen in my lifetime, hopefully for my children. Maybe they will get it right. There are going to be those that read this and will be able to take bits and pieces from this; it’s a start. Now only if we could get our elected officials on the same page. Its time for America to take back America and stop letting an individual think for us. We all know what we want, we just need to stop depending on someone else to try to figure out what it is.

Before I get into today’s topic of discussion, I’m seriously thinking about not talking about College Sports over Social Media at all. The reason why I am even considering this decision is, because everybody thinks that they know more than this person does and will argue about this issue. I don’t claim to know a lot about College Athletics, but since I have been on a “College Sports Timeout” I’ve noticed that adults bickering over sports, at all, is ridiculous. This is so crazy. Did I look like these individuals? I must honestly say, yes, I was apart of this issue. Reading statements made by grown ass adults and to go back and forth about College Sports and how corrupt it is, also how this conference is more corrupt than this one, looks ridiculous. I will say this and end it here, no one other than the University, College or Academy, Staff and Teachers are the only people getting paid. This season has given me a bad taste for Collegiate Sports due to how “die hard” individuals are willing to go to the end of the earth for a team that doesn’t give a shit about them. On to today’s topic……

Since I have become a “house Dad”, I have had a lot of time to watch Television. One channel that I watch religiously is Investigation Discovery. Why? I have no clue. It amazes me how people commit crimes, kill, or torture others and really think they have a slight chance of getting away with it. Since moving into the 21st Century the advancement of technology is ridiculous. What people don’t realize is that anyone, with a valid reason or is able to speak the lingo can subpoena cell phone records or get the required information they need to track or put you at the scene of a crime. Another crazy thing that most people do is research or “google search” how to commit a crime. You think that I’m crazy, but it’s true. People go above and beyond to hire a “hitman” only to hire your local Sheriff’s Deputy, Policeman or FBI so you will have that warm and fuzzy just for you to think that the person you want whacked is going to die, only to realize that when you make your final payment you are arrested. Now you want to make yourself look like an upstanding citizen and ask a jury to give you leniency or say that you are crazy and need to be committed to a mental institution.

When I finally become the President of the United States, God help us, I’m taking all power away from Congress and I’m going to make all decisions. I don’t need overpaid individuals that only care about themselves or their agenda to tell me that I can’t do this or that because it’s goes against everything we stand for. If I am approached with that statement I am going to make that individual tell me what it is that “we” stand for. I will change all the 1st degree murder laws to if you kill someone, that’s exactly how you’re going to die. If you want to molest children, then I’m going to throw you in a cell full of razor wire and make you suffer. If you want to go around and rape and kill women, I’m going to put you on a deserted island full of the most venomous snakes on the planet and see if you survive. If you do happen to survive, I will personally kill you up close and personal myself. Our prison system is not set up to punish individuals. People who commit crimes go into prison without a high school diploma and come out with a masters degree and with the knowledge on how NOT to get caught next time.

It’s not fair to hardworking individuals that are required to pay taxes to support your education or let you go in and get buff. That’s not what it’s meant to do. You are supposed to go in knowing that you committed a crime and you need to suffer like you made other families suffer. If you wan’t food, you will be required to grow it. If you want clothes you will be required to make them. If you want books you will be required to write them, of course they will be overlooked by a staff that I put together and if it has anything to do with crime, then you will write it again. You will get one phone call a year and that will be to your attorney. If you are in any way associated with a crime, let’s just say, you’re the getaway driver, you will suffer just like the person that committed the crime. A lot of you are going to say that this is going overboard, I don’t think it is, because you are given a choice before you commit a crime. No one is making you drive that car from Florida to New York that is full of drugs, you are only thinking that if I do this, I can get a quick payday without even working for it.

I understand that people are not asked to grow up in certain areas, but you are given the choice to move out of the situation once you are old enough to know what is going on around you is wrong. The decisions we make in life alter the road ahead. Who cares that you are picked on because you are the only one in your class that has an A average and you study hard so that you are able to make something of yourselves. You will work hard when it comes to sports, but forget about the books, because you think you won’t need it, because you are so talented. What happens when you can’t get picked up by a team because at the time you enter the draft, that is not what a team is looking for? Now you have to rely on what? Nothing, you didn’t finish your degree, because you were the best short-stop in the universe. It doesn’t matter how well or how bad you do, because either way, someone is going to hate you anyway, right? So let them hate you, because you decided that you wanted to change the cycle.

No one has ever told you that the road is going to be easy. Nothing in life is easy. If it was easy, then everybody would be doing it. If at the end of your life you did everything you could have possibly done to put yourself in a better position, then you did what you were meant to do. I can’t rap, so why do I need to get a instrumental and drop some dope rhymes? That’s not why the Creator of this Universe put me here. I still don’t know my reason for living on this earth is, but I do know that for the people I care about and love with every inch of my being, will be taken care of and will know what hard work is, just like it was taught to me. I don’t want anybody to judge anything that I have put down on this Blog and take it personal, if you do, then you need to make a change for the positive. I’m not saying that if you rap or inspired to rap that you shouldn’t do it, that’s just not my “route”. When I turn 65 and I feel like I need to rap, then I will do it.

All I am saying, before you make a decision or past judgement on someone else, look at yourself first. If you think that you are perfect then judge. So there shouldn’t be anyone of us judging anyone else, because no one person on this earth is perfect. We all have flaws. We should recognize what our flaws are and strive to fix them. If you don’t remember anything from this Blog post, I want you to remember this, if you EVER see or hear, Presidential Candidate Jared J. Gober, just know shit is about to change. I’m sure before I make it to my first city on the campaign trail, I will be thrown off it, because I will be looking out for the betterment of this country and not myself.
