The Regulars Blog #1

There are certain people in my life, other than the obvious (my family) that motivate me without knowing it.  They can say something crazy, off the wall, or something inspirational and whatever I’m feeling that day, it takes it all away.

Person 1: we will say his name Jordan.  Jordan is a poet.  I’ve known him for about 3 or 4 years now.  The crazy thing is, we have never met in person, only correspondence is Facebook, texts, or phone calls.  This guy has been through some stuff.  How he’s grown up and did what a man is supposed to do and provide for his family.  He is definitely an inspiration to me and  I’m sure that if I ever needed him, that I could depend on him.  Though he has a hectic schedule, I’ll shoot him a text and he will respond and it’s a genuine response.  That means a lot.

Person 2 & 3:  we will call them Joe and Sally.  These guys have been with me and my family through thick and thin.  Me and Joe have been stuck in the lovely country of Afghanistan together.  He is truly a brother.  No matter what type of mood he’s in he always has time for me and mine.  Sally has such a beautiful soul and humongous heart. She will give you her last. In today’s world it’s so hard to find friends like that.

Person 4: we will call person 4 Matt.  Matt can make you feel like you are on top of the world.  Your cat could have just died and he can cheer you up.  I can honestly say that there is no one else in the world like this guy and I’m glad I’m on his good side.  He is also a member of the elite Purple Heart Club.  You have to be awesome to get in. (Trust me, I know, I am also a member). This guy is a brother to me.  We may be of different heritages, but we share a bond that only 5 other people can say they share also.  “BOOM”! That’s all that needs to be said.

Person 5: is blood.  I will go to the end of the earth for this dude! That’s all that needs to be said.  He knows who he is.

There are many of my friends that play different roles in my life and it would take me a damn dictionary to catalog everyone.  I just wanted to point out the ones that come to mind without having to think of what to say. All my posts will not be all loving and positive, some you may like and a lot you will hate.  I just don’t want this platform to ruin any friendships. If it does, I guess we were not really friends in the first place.

  1. It’s good to have great people in your life, and like you said now and days loyalty is hard to come by. I’m sure they appreciate you taking time to acknowledge and thank them for having such an impact in your life.

  2. G, Sally and Joe love you guys very much too. Having a second family is worth so much. I really appreciate you mentioning us, that really means a lot.
